I joined the Governors at the start of this academic year, having recently retired from a career spanning over 30 years in educational administration and management, preceded by 5 years in careers guidance throughout Oxfordshire. I am from a local farming family and have lived in Tysoe, just down the hill from Shenington, since 2000. My own educational background includes a BA in History and a post-graduate qualification in careers guidance. During my years as Registrar and a senior manager of an independent secondary school in Oxford I developed expertise in a number of areas including admissions, premises responsibilities, management of administrative staff, the development and running of holiday revision courses and personal tutoring for sixth form students. Always interested in all aspects of education, my professional and family experiences have made me acutely aware of the critical importance of all stages of primary education. I am a member of the Finance, Personnel, Pay and Premises Committee.
