Safeguarding and keeping children safe is our top priority.
The Nurses from Oxford Health NHS Trust will be coming in to School on Wednesday 23rd October at 9am to deliver the Flu vaccine to all children for whom a valid Consent Form has been submitted.
We would recommend that you let your child know that it will be happening and you may find it helpful to watch this NHS Choices Video together so they know why they are having the vaccine and what to expect.
Please note we will be unable to vaccinate your child with the nasal vaccine if they have had steroid tablets or increased use of inhaled steroids, in the two weeks prior to the vaccination session in school, or if they have been wheezy in the 3 days prior to the vaccination session in school. If this applies to your child, please inform your School Health Nurse Office on 07795 302416 / 01865904234 before school starts and inform the school office.
If your child is unwell on the day and they are unable to be vaccinated they will be invited to book into a Catch Up Clinic. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the School Nurse Team on the number above.
