School Council

The School Council are our pupil voice, bringing about change within our school.

Each year children who wish to stand for School Council are invited to prepare and deliver speeches, after which the council is elected through a democratic vote.

The School Council are involved in decisions for the school. The ideas are put forward by each class each week and placed on an agenda for the School Council to debate. Once a decision is made the School Council report back to their individual classes. The ideas are often implemented to make good changes for the school.

School Rules

The School Council decided on the following essential School Rules:

  • Endeavour to treat everyone the way you would like to be treated.

  • Endeavour to be an excellent role model to both your class and our school.

  • Endeavour to be the excellent friend that you would like to have.

  • Endeavour to be truthful to yourself.

  • Endeavour to respect the school, other peoples’ property and your own.

  • Endeavour to show pride in your learning.

  • Always remember that excellence is achieved through endeavour.

What has our School Council been doing this year?

This year the School Council have been very busy. We all agreed that the classes would write to our MP in support of National Parliament Week. Victoria Prentis has agreed to visit our school in February 2019.

In support of Children in Need, the School Council ran a toy stall in aid of the charity.

We have agreed in consultation with Sports Council to restart Wake Up Shake Up (morning exercise) as part of the Healthy Schools Campaign.

We are looking forward to being involved in future projects and fundraising.
